American Web now provides global domain resolution services
SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 9, 2008 – American Web Services, Inc., a developer of Internet business solutions, has expanded web hosting services to include a new global DNS system. In addition to the servers at it’s Sacramento, California datacenter, American Web has added four new domain name servers in San Jose, San Diego, Washington DC and the Netherlands.
The domain name system (DNS) provides the translation between the human-readable domain names like "google.com" and machine addresses like "209.63.6.4". "This is the first step in accessing any service on the Internet," said Ed Williams, Chief Technology Officer of American Web. "The faster this process is, the faster websites can load."
American Web develops and hosts Internet solutions for hundreds of organizations, including Blue Shield of California, CENTURY 21 Select Real Estate, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Hilton Hotels, and Pacific Coast Producers.
